How to Pay at Our Dispensary

One of the biggest hassles when it comes to shopping for cannabis is each dispensary’s payment methods. Many dispensaries only accept cash, while others can process payments from your bank account. What gives?

We think it’s silly, too: It’s 2022! If we can’t have flying cars, at least let us use credit cards to pay for cannabis. Unfortunately, though, this is how all dispensaries need to conduct business, for now. Due to nationwide banking laws, banks and credit card companies can lose their ability to do business if they process cannabis payments.

That’s why we’ve done everything we can to make it easy to pay for your cannabis. At Takoma Wellness Center, we offer our customers three different payment options:

• • Cash: Cash rules everything around us (queue the music: same as it ever was). Cash makes payments easy, secure, and anonymous, so it’s always a great choice for your next dispensary trip. If you forgot cash, don’t worry. We have an ATM on site that provides cash withdrawals for a $3 fee.
  • Debit cards: Although we can’t accept credit card payments, debit cards are all allowed. (Again, we don’t make these rules.) We essentially use our computer as a cashless ATM to withdraw money from your account. This means there is a $2.85 fee for debit card payments.

Hypur: If you’re a local and a regular customer who makes repeat purchases, Hypur may be the way to go. Hypur is a third-party, online electronic payment processor that makes it easy to buy cannabis.
